Technician 2, Process

Location: Bayan Lepas, Malaysia, with work across PN1 and PN2 plants as required. Onsite work in a cleanroom environment with a rotating 12-hour shift pattern.

What you will do

• Perform DET Guzik and QMT testing, tester conversions, buyoff measurements, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure testing is completed on schedule and results meet stable, consistent test criteria.
• Compile and upload test data to Online SPC and maintain test requests and tracking records.
• Support data package preparation for NPI, SMO, Time Slice, and other engineering requests.
• Manage reference and head issuance, inventory, generation, and screening activities.
• Maintain MRE laboratory 7S standards, follow safety rules, and provide clear shift handovers.

Requirements

• Diploma or higher diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronic/Electromechanical, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 1–2 years of manufacturing experience involving machine operation, data collection, and analytical skills.
• Ability to identify failure mechanisms and isolate process changes that cause machine alarms.
• Ability to troubleshoot process controls, adjust processes, read machine data, and work with control limits.
• Ability to work onsite in a cleanroom, follow a rotating 12-hour shift pattern, and support different work locations as assigned.
• Effective communication and teamwork with engineering, production, process, yield, and quality teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with sputter metrology tools and magnetic materials used in HDD manufacturing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Excel macros are an advantage.
