Equipment Maintenance & Preventative Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: Batu Kawan, Penang, Malaysia; onsite at the Penang SDSM Office

What you will do

• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults in backend production equipment.
• Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment using schematics, manuals, and specifications.
• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, calibration, and diagnostic testing.
• Support manufacturing and equipment operations in a rapidly changing, high-volume environment.
• Work with Engineering on new equipment installations and improvement initiatives.
• Diagnose root causes, resolve non-standard problems, and support factory improvement activities.

Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Electronics, or Mechatronics.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PC software or hardware issues.
• Ability to use schematics, hand tools, electrical gauges, and test equipment for equipment diagnosis and repair.
• Understanding of PLC systems and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work independently, manage changing priorities, and maintain reliable attendance aligned with the work schedule.
• Strong attention to detail and effective written and verbal communication with technicians, Engineering, and managers.

Nice to have

• Experience with vision systems.
• Knowledge of Auto VMI, Auto Labeling, or Auto Packing equipment and processes.
• Ability to train and mentor other technicians and develop maintenance procedures.
