Field Service Technician (Medical Equipment)

Location: Gurnee, Illinois, USA; domestic travel approximately 40%, international travel approximately 0%–2%, with frequent overnight travel and occasional short-notice assignments.

Salary: $53,990–$62,218 annually.

What you will do

• Perform startup and in-service training for air and vacuum systems and medical gas pipeline equipment.
• Carry out field-service preventive maintenance, component replacement, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Evaluate warranty issues for in-house and field-service equipment while minimizing customer downtime.
• Follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, ISO requirements, FDA guidelines, and budgetary controls.
• Support quality investigations, provide technical recommendations, and assist inside aftermarket sales activities.
• Coordinate with service, sales, technicians, and customers to resolve equipment issues and organize service visits.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of electrical and mechanical experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic electrical troubleshooting and repair skills for PLC controls.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and product manuals.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and ability to perform domestic field service travel.
• English required; ability to obtain and maintain a passport.

Nice to have

• Customer service or field service experience.
• Associate degree or technical certificate.
• Pneumatic systems experience.
• ASSE Med Gas 6040 certification or willingness to obtain it.
