TL;DR
Field Service Technician (Environmental Treatment Systems): Implementing and operating water and vapor treatment technologies, pilot demonstration units, and environmental monitoring equipment with an accent on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, sampling, and treatment data collection. Focus on fabricating and repairing piping and skids, conducting regulated hazardous-material sampling, and maintaining safe field operations across frequent out-of-state travel.
Location: Santa Clarita, California, United States. Field travel required up to 75% of the time, typically out of state from Monday to Friday.
Annual compensation: $60,000–$80,000, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

What you will do
- Operate and maintain environmental treatment equipment, including pumps, filters, tanks, pressure vessels, and process units.
- Fabricate piping and skids, set up bench and pilot testing equipment, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures.
- Collect environmental samples and operate field monitoring equipment such as PID/FID, pH, EC, DO, GEM, turbidity, water level, and LEL meters.
- Record treatment data, prepare field reports and spreadsheets, and complete chain-of-custody documentation.
- Handle hazardous materials and waste in accordance with regulatory protocols.
- Support Project Managers, communicate site conditions, represent the company with clients, and follow safety requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, environmental collection, monitoring, sampling, testing, and basic evaluation.
- Valid Class C driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to complete and maintain 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and annual 8-hour refresher training.
- NFPA 70E training or willingness to complete it; ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work independently with multiple responsibilities.
Nice to have
- Experience supervising construction projects.
- Electrical, plumbing, or mechanical trades background, with electrical experience preferred.
- HVAC, mechanical, and electrical competence.
- Experience operating PLC/SCADA systems.
- Associate's degree in Environmental Studies or a technical certification.
