Flight Software Engineer (Autonomous Flight)

What you will do

• Design and develop embedded flight software components for autonomous flight systems.
• Implement and test software according to aerospace standards, including DO-178C.
• Apply ARP4754B, ARP4761A, and related safety-critical development frameworks.
• Conduct design and code reviews and collaborate with engineering teams to meet customer requirements.
• Develop software verification tools and maintain configuration-control practices across the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• US person status is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent discipline and 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience developing and deploying software for embedded systems.
• Working knowledge of C and/or C++ and strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Experience writing tests and designing software for testability, plus experience with Linux.
• Strong communication skills and experience across software design, development, verification, and deployment.

Nice to have

• Experience with DO-178C or similarly rigorous software development and verification processes.
• Experience developing software for real-time operating systems.
• Flight software development experience, especially for mobile robots or UAS.
• Experience using formal methods for software logic verification.
• Experience building production-scale applications through a full development lifecycle.
