Location: Louisville, Colorado, United States; must be local to the work location, with occasional telework available.

Projected compensation: $95,336.84–$165,772.27 per year.

What you will do

  • Develop complex containerized, embedded, web, and desktop applications for spacecraft, ground sensors, testing, tooling, and calibration.
  • Design scientific-processing applications and algorithms for high-reliability production systems.
  • Maintain code and configuration management practices and CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and deploying software.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, code inspections, integration tests, and performance, stability, and scalability improvements.
  • Support software qualification and certification activities, including documentation and audit evidence.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, scientists, program leads, and multidisciplinary stakeholders while supporting proposals and technical demonstrations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computation, or a related field, plus relevant professional experience in high-reliability production software development.
  • 5–7 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, 3–5 years with a master’s degree, or 0–2 years with a PhD.
  • Strong knowledge of C, C++, Python, Rust, Bash, operating systems, programming environments, and modern design patterns.
  • Experience supporting products through requirements, development, integration, production, and sustainment.
  • Experience with Git-based source control, continuous integration and continuous delivery, and containerization using Podman, Docker, Docker Compose, or Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, UDP, serial communication, routing, and message queues.

Nice to have

  • Cloud platform integration with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Networking, DNS, load balancing, routing, REST APIs, JavaScript, HTML, React, and web platforms.
  • Experience with defense, NASA, commercial aerospace, cybersecurity, flight software, orbital mechanics, or spacecraft payload interactions.
