What you will do

  • Drive the architecture, development, integration, and testing of an extensible Run-Time Assurance module for autonomous systems.
  • Integrate safety capabilities with low-assurance mission autonomy software and high-assurance middleware.
  • Deploy and test the Run-Time Assurance capability across physical platforms and operating conditions.
  • Establish software development practices covering code analysis, audit trails, reviews, and testing.
  • Create certification artifacts such as analysis reports, software documentation, architecture decision records, interface control diagrams, and system models.
  • Mentor engineers on safe software development and software quality practices.

Requirements

  • Typically 10+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 9+ years with a master's degree, 7+ years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise designing and developing C++ safety-critical software with real-time guarantees.
  • Deep knowledge of C++ software architecture patterns and practical implementation.
  • Experience integrating software with real-world physical systems and improving performance and reliability.
  • Strong knowledge of DO-178C and MIL-HDBK-516 software assurance standards.
  • Strong Git and Linux skills, modern development practices, technical leadership, and mentoring experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience with strict C++ coding standards such as MISRA C++ and JSF AV C++.
  • Hands-on experience taking software through an airworthiness certification process.
