Lead Architect / Senior Full Stack Developer (AI)

Location: Hybrid, 4 days per week in-office and 1 day remote, in Portland, Oregon or Fort Mill, South Carolina, United States. Applicants may work in or relocate to one of these locations. Relocation assistance is not available. Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States; visa sponsorship is limited to current hirify.global employees working under an existing U.S. company visa.

Salary: $117,000–$150,000 USD starting range, dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end technical architecture of the CHEC web-based vehicle electrical configuration and validation platform.
• Define frontend, backend, data-layer, and Azure architecture using React, .NET APIs, backend services, and cloud-hosted infrastructure.
• Lead automation QA strategy, tooling selection, UI/API/integration test coverage, and CI/CD quality gates.
• Establish engineering standards for security, observability, scalability, traceability, auditability, and configuration validation.
• Lead the team’s AI-augmented development strategy, including coding assistants, prompt engineering, workflow integration, and evaluation of AI-generated code.
• Partner with UX, Product Owners, and Application Engineering while mentoring developers and providing technical reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8–10+ years of software engineering experience and proven technical leadership or architecture experience.
• Strong full-stack expertise with React/TypeScript and .NET/C#, plus hands-on automation QA leadership.
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, domain-driven design, REST API design, versioning, and contract-first development.
• Knowledge of SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Entity Framework, Azure, GitHub, CI/CD, OWASP, and authentication and authorization patterns.
• Experience defining AI-assisted development practices, using Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor, and critically evaluating AI-generated code in safety-relevant, highly auditable contexts.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise or safety-relevant systems.
• Infrastructure-as-code or DevOps experience with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Performance engineering, load testing, optimization, LLM API integration, or AI evaluation frameworks experience.
• Evidence of using AI tools to measurably accelerate team delivery.
