Lead Architect, AI Solutions Architecture - PI

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States

Annual base salary: $169,400–$279,600, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Architect scalable, production-grade AI, generative AI, and agentic AI systems across multiple business and technology domains.
• Define and lead technology proofs of concept, conduct hands-on prototyping, and drive continuous modernization.
• Align AI platform capabilities with business needs, including LLM selection and routing, RAG pipelines, memory systems, tool use, and function calling.
• Establish architecture alignment, reusable patterns, interoperability, and an enterprise AI solutions architecture practice.
• Develop governance, risk, control, model-risk, and responsible AI practices informed by the EU AI Act, GDPR, NAIC, and NIST AI RMF.
• Partner with senior Technology and Business leaders, communicate architectural direction, mentor architects and engineers, and build organizational consensus.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related STEM or technology field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 additional years of architecture or software engineering experience and 2 years of technical leadership experience; 8–10 years of architecture experience is also cited.
• Advanced architecture experience with recent hands-on engineering experience and a record of executing complex, large-scale technology strategies.
• Hands-on AI/ML development and deployment experience, including ML algorithms, neural networks, optimization, distributed processing, MLOps, AI Ops, and CI/CD.
• Experience with generative AI, LLMs, transformer architectures, multimodal systems, autonomous AI, reinforcement learning, RAG, vector databases, memory systems, and multi-agent orchestration.
• Experience with AWS Bedrock and AgentCore, agent orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, Strands, or Crew AI, and protocols including MCP and Agent2Agent.

Nice to have

• Insurance technology and strong insurance industry experience.
• Experience with Azure Foundry, Agent 365, or GCP/Gemini AI.
