What you will do
- Design and build full-stack features for Alfie, ’s conversational AI assistant, with ownership of frontend and UX.
- Shape LLM and agentic system behavior through prompt design, tool and function calling, multi-step reasoning, and evaluation.
- Prototype conversational and generative UI patterns, including streaming responses, fallback states, wrong-answer recovery, and human-in-the-loop interactions.
- Build and maintain TypeScript and React frontend components alongside backend contracts and APIs supporting agentic workflows.
- Troubleshoot frontend, backend, and AI-specific production issues such as latency, bad model output, and dropped tool calls.
- Contribute to technical, design, and code reviews while mentoring junior engineers and promoting maintainable code.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience with demonstrated strength in frontend and UX.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience building LLM-powered or agentic products.
- Experience creating conversational interfaces, copilots, assistants, or other AI-powered products, including generative or dynamic UI techniques.
- Strong knowledge of modern React and TypeScript, frontend integration with backend services and APIs, and real-time or streaming data.
- Understanding of LLM design patterns, prompt engineering, and observability for agentic systems.
- Comfort working across the full stack, including backend and infrastructure, with a lean approach focused on customer value and rapid iteration.
