Senior Software Engineer - Frontend (React)

Location: Full-time onsite in Bellevue, Washington, United States; remote and hybrid options are not available.

Salary: $108,000–$216,000 annually, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications powering the Walmart.com checkout experience.
• Build responsive, accessible, and intuitive interfaces across devices and browsers.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate customer and business needs into technical solutions.
• Contribute to architecture decisions that improve performance, reliability, maintainability, observability, and scalability.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement durable solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote code reviews, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with 3 years of software engineering experience, or 5 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, GraphQL, HTML, CSS, and modern frontend frameworks such as React or Next.js.
• Knowledge of web application architecture, API integration, state management, performance optimization, responsive design, testing, version control, and CI/CD.
• Experience building scalable, reliable, maintainable, high-traffic, customer-facing products.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience building checkout, cart, payment, or other transactional eCommerce experiences.
• Experience with GenAI, LLM-powered applications, or AI-assisted workflows.
• Familiarity with Node.js, server-side rendering, cloud platforms, observability, monitoring, and debugging tools.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, accessibility, internationalization, experimentation, and A/B testing.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives across teams.
