Software Development Engineer III (React)

Location: Five days onsite per week in Mountain View, CA or McLean, VA.

Annual base salary: $139,725–$160,367 USD for the U.S.; $172,528–$192,904 USD for Mountain View, CA. Additional bonus, equity, and benefits may apply.

What you will do

• Build and maintain the Shop member experience with Next.js and React.
• Develop responsive, accessible, and high-performance interfaces for offer discovery, cashback, and rewards.
• Integrate frontend applications with REST and GraphQL services and internal identity systems.
• Contribute to shared design systems and component libraries.
• Optimize rendering, Core Web Vitals, reliability, and observability for peak shopping traffic.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Application, QE, API, and Infrastructure teams on system design, implementation, testing, reviews, and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience building web applications with strong frontend depth in React and Next.js.
• Proficiency with TypeScript and modern frontend tooling.
• Fluent use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot, with the ability to validate their output.
• Experience delivering features end to end with automated tests, observability, monitoring, and documentation.
• Experience with containerized, cloud-based, infrastructure-as-code environments, including exposure to GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, or Nomad.

Nice to have

• Production experience with REST or GraphQL APIs.
• High-traffic web performance optimization, including SSR/ISR, caching, and Core Web Vitals.
• Experience with design systems, component libraries, WCAG, e-commerce, marketplace, loyalty, offers, affiliate, or payments products.
• Backend familiarity and experience with event-driven or cloud-native architectures.
