Solar Technician II

Location: Platteview, Nebraska, United States; daily commuting to the project site in Ashland, Nebraska is required.

What you will do

• Perform assigned operations and maintenance activities at utility-scale solar PV sites and substations.
• Carry out corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance on central inverters, trackers, and electrical equipment.
• Operate and maintain SunGrow inverters, ATI trackers, and high-, medium-, and low-voltage switching systems.
• Prepare and implement switching and clearance orders.
• Perform technical and administrative duties related to operating and maintaining the power facility.
• Work independently or as part of field crews while following environmental and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Three or more years of experience as a PV O&M solar technician, or five or more years in a power plant with at least one year in PV solar O&M or construction.
• Knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals, including electrical measurements, control circuits, and solid-state theory.
• Basic knowledge of power-plant equipment and associated control devices.
• Experience with electrical or construction projects, technical equipment, engineering, and basic IT equipment.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to commute daily to the Platteview project site and work outdoors, at heights, around energized equipment, and during non-standard hours or overtime when required.

Nice to have

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent journeyman qualifications.
• Experience leading, training, or supporting other field personnel.
