Wind Technician II (Wind Turbines)

Location: Onsite at a wind farm in Bliss, New York; applicants must live in the area or be willing to move.

Salary: $32.00–$38.25 per hour, plus annual bonus.

What you will do

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair wind turbine power generation equipment.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on generators, pitch systems, yaw systems, cooling systems, and other support systems.
• Diagnose mechanical issues involving gearboxes, pumps, rotating equipment, and machinery alignment.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems including contactors, motors, breakers, and wiring.
• Inspect safety equipment, vehicles, PPE, and plant equipment while documenting completed work in computer-based software.
• Support site operations, respond to call-outs, work overtime as needed, and follow all safety and environmental procedures.

Requirements

• Must live in the area or be willing to move to the Bliss, NY site.
• Three to five years of related experience required; power plant experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; an associate technical/electronic degree or relevant electrical, electronic, or mechanical experience is acceptable.
• Unrestricted driver's license and ability to speak English required.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and technical information and analyze mechanical and electrical problems.
• Ability to climb a 300-foot tower ladder daily, work at elevated spaces and in all weather conditions, and lift at least 40 pounds.
