Journeyman Electrician (Solar Energy)

What you will do

• Inspect, repair, test, troubleshoot, install, remove, and maintain equipment at commercial solar and battery storage facilities.
• Work with batteries, solar panels, inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and SCADA equipment.
• Read instruction manuals, blueprints, and control system drawings to complete field maintenance tasks.
• Complete work orders, calibration sheets, timecards, material requests, and other maintenance records.
• Follow safety procedures and protect coworkers and the public from electrical and operational hazards.
• Supervise and train apprentice electricians and coworkers in safe tool use and maintenance procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of industrial electrical or electronic maintenance experience.
• Current Hawaii Journeyman Electrician certification required at the time of application.
• Knowledge of electricity, voltage, and current relationships in AC and DC circuits.
• Valid driver's license issued by the state of residence and ability to review confidential US security information.
• Ability to complete training and testing requirements and perform physical field work, including climbing ladders and working at heights.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Solar PV and Battery Storage.
• Experience or training with Sunny Central UP and Solectria XGI series inverters.
• OSHA training and certification.
