Senior Staff, Systems Design Engineering (DRAM/SSD)

Location: Hsinchu, Taiwan; secondary location in Milpitas, United States. The role is based at the Tai Yuen Office and includes travel to global hirify.global sites and DRAM supplier locations.

What you will do

• Serve as the senior technical interface for DRAM suppliers on product testing, validation, integration, and issue resolution.
• Monitor and analyze ongoing reliability testing results for SSD drives.
• Perform hands-on DRAM and system-level failure analysis and document corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Systems Design and Supplier Quality Engineering teams to validate DRAM component performance.
• Participate in supplier audits and lead technical and program reviews.
• Use automation, scripting, and AI-assisted tools to improve debugging, analysis, and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or 12+ years of equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience with DRAM products, quality management, reliability, and failure analysis.
• Strong knowledge of memory technologies, system architecture, platform validation, DDR5 interfaces, protocols, training, and debugging.
• Strong knowledge of DDR controller architecture, configuration, performance tuning, and failure analysis.
• Ability to debug complex HW–FW–system interactions and lead systematic root-cause analysis with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools, technical leadership without formal people management, and clear technical documentation.

• Fluent bilingual communication in English and Mandarin.
