Technician 1, Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance (Automation)

Location: Onsite in Batu Kawan, Central Seberang Perai, Penang, Malaysia. The role requires working 12-hour rotating shifts.

What you will do

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, automation, PLC, and robotic equipment issues.
• Repair or replace faulty components and perform calibrations and adjustments.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns, implement corrective actions, and maintain accurate repair records.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production teams and support daily shift operations.
• Assist senior technicians, subject matter experts, and engineers with equipment upgrades and improvements.

Requirements

• Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or SKM Phase 3, or an equivalent qualification.
• Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical systems and troubleshooting of automation equipment.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs and robotics.
• Ability to perform basic checks, monitoring, routine operations, and preventive maintenance under supervision.
• Ability to follow technical instructions, support shift teams, and escalate equipment issues when needed.
• Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts onsite in Malaysia.

Nice to have

• Experience with automation robotic storage, automated robotic vehicles, ARV, ARS, or turntable equipment.
• Familiarity with computing and computer systems.
