Senior Legal Counsel (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Serve as the primary legal adviser to Product and Engineering throughout the product lifecycle.
• Advise on AI governance, responsible AI, data privacy by design, cybersecurity requirements, and regulatory developments.
• Draft and maintain product terms, EULAs, acceptable use policies, product documentation, and public-facing claims.
• Review product features, integrations, and go-to-market strategies to identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
• Draft, review, and negotiate SaaS, licensing, reseller, professional services, master services, and confidentiality agreements.
• Manage and mentor 1–2 direct reports while partnering with Sales, Customer Success, Risk, Privacy, and Research teams.

Requirements

• Law degree and qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales, barrister, equivalent legal qualification, or J.D. with active U.S. bar admission.
• Extensive post-qualification experience with increasing responsibility.
• Required in-house experience at a software or technology company advising on product-related legal matters.
• Strong product counseling and commercial contract drafting and negotiation experience, including SaaS, licensing, and technology agreements.
• Experience managing or mentoring junior lawyers, paralegals, or legal support staff.
• Experience with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, NIST, SOC 2, ISO 27001, AI governance, responsible AI, or AI ethics; CIPP/E certification required.
