Sr. Manager, Software Engineering (AI)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, hire, and develop a multidisciplinary remote team of 10+ engineers across backend, frontend, full-stack, data science, and platform engineering.
• Build technical leadership capabilities and establish sustainable ownership across the team.
• Partner with Product Management and cross-functional leaders to shape product strategy, roadmaps, and execution plans.
• Guide architecture and review technical proposals across services, frontend experiences, data systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Own operational outcomes covering reliability, scalability, performance, security, cost optimization, observability, incidents, and technical debt.
• Champion AI-assisted and agentic development practices while maintaining strong standards for testing, security, quality, and engineering ownership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience delivering mission-critical software platforms, core systems, or complex SaaS products.
• Experience as an engineering manager delivering outcomes beyond a single team or across a complex technical domain.
• Strong background in distributed systems, scalable cloud services, production infrastructure, and customer-facing software.
• Sound engineering judgment across architecture, system design, data flows, performance, reliability, security, and operational trade-offs.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, observability, incident management, secure development, and technical debt management.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across Product, Design, Architecture, Platform, SRE, InfoSec, Engineering, and executive stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with agentic or AI-assisted development practices, including evaluation, testing, security, and governance.
• Experience developing AI-powered products, agentic applications, LLM integrations, agent frameworks, or AI platform capabilities.
• Background in business intelligence, data platforms, decision intelligence, or related analytics products.
• Experience operating and modernizing microservices, Kubernetes platforms, infrastructure as code, or multiple deployment models.
• Experience mentoring peer managers or contributing to broader engineering leadership practices.
