TL;DR
Junior Quality Engineer - Nuclear (Quality Management/Nuclear): Supporting the development and deployment of nuclear-grade quality management systems across the SZC project with an accent on QA/QC, regulatory compliance, and supply chain quality. Focus on monitoring quality performance, ensuring Nuclear Site Licence Condition compliance, and driving right-first-time improvement across complex project delivery activities.

Location: London, Bristol, Ipswich, or Manchester, United Kingdom; on site 2 days per week

What you will do

  • Support the development, implementation, and oversight of quality arrangements across the SZC Project Delivery Organisation.
  • Deploy nuclear-grade quality assurance and quality control arrangements aligned with industry best practice and major project standards.
  • Ensure quality requirements are communicated and applied across the project organisation and supply chain.
  • Support compliance with Nuclear Site Licence Conditions and project quality governance.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report quality performance, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with project teams and supply chain partners to embed right-first-time delivery.

Requirements

  • 1–5 years of experience in quality management within major projects, preferably in the nuclear power sector.
  • Experience with Quality Assurance and Quality Control across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning.
  • Experience with complex nuclear programmes, compliance, governance, regulatory expectations, and supply chain organisations.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent military experience.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification and NEC3 accreditation through Supervisor or PM training.
  • Native-level English is required; BPSS clearance is required or must be obtained.

Nice to have

  • CQI Practitioner or Chartered membership.
  • NDT or welding inspection certification, such as CSWIP or PCN.
