Metallurgy Intern (Metallurgy and laboratory testing): Performing routine and non-routine metallurgy tests and associated sample preparation with an accent on established procedures, quality requirements, and laboratory safety. Focus on completing assigned test work within deadlines, modifying procedures when needed, and reporting non-compliances.

Location: Onsite in Randfontein, Gauteng, South Africa

What you will do

Perform routine and non-routine metallurgy tests according to established procedures.
Modify procedures when necessary to complete assigned metallurgy test work.
Carry out sample preparation and associated laboratory testing.
Complete tasks within allocated timeframes and plan assigned work.
Report work-related infringements and non-compliances to the metallurgist.
Follow hirify.global quality and safety management requirements.

Requirements

Diploma or bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a similar field.
1–2 years of experience in metallurgy or a related field.
Ability to perform laboratory test work and sample preparation.
Ability to follow quality, safety, and established testing procedures.
