DA Facility Manager (Acetylene Plant)

Location: Alrode, Alberton, South Africa; onsite

What you will do

• Manage all aspects of the high-pressure filling facility, including production planning, daily operations, staffing, inventory, and facility costs.
• Drive safety, quality, process safety, environmental compliance, incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor plant yield, Order Filling Rate, productivity, KPIs, production logs, stock levels, cylinder tracking, and non-conforming cylinder issues.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance, shutdowns, preventive maintenance, breakdown reporting, and work requests with the Maintenance Manager.
• Develop employees, manage supervisor performance, and ensure personnel are trained, qualified, and authorized for assigned tasks.
• Lead continuous improvement, industrial audits, stakeholder engagement, and actions to improve product availability and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• National Diploma in Chemical, Metallurgical, or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, with 6 years of process plant experience.
• Alternatively, a BTech or BSc in Chemical, Metallurgical, or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, with 3 years of industrial experience is advantageous.
• Ability to work onsite at the filling facility in Alrode, Alberton, South Africa.
• Experience with safety, quality, process safety, environmental compliance, production operations, inventory control, and maintenance coordination.
