TL;DR
Azure Server Administrator (Microsoft Azure): Operating and securing the university's Azure environment supporting academic and administrative systems with an accent on infrastructure architecture, monitoring, identity, compliance, and disaster recovery. Focus on designing repeatable Infrastructure-as-Code deployments, resolving incidents, testing recovery, and driving security and audit findings to closure.

What you will do
- Own the design, daily administration, security, and compliance of the university's Microsoft Azure environment.
- Manage Azure virtual machines, databases, platform services, monitoring, alerting, patching, and OS update cycles.
- Design high-availability, backup, and disaster-recovery solutions, and test recovery procedures.
- Develop repeatable Infrastructure-as-Code deployments using ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
- Provide on-call incident response, perform root-cause troubleshooting, and document incidents and resolutions.
- Implement change management, runbooks, cross-training, cost optimization, and audit remediation processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years administering Windows and/or Linux servers in production environments.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure compute, storage, networking, identity, and monitoring.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, role-based access control, and network security fundamentals.
- Proficiency with PowerShell; Azure CLI experience is preferred.
- Experience independently owning an environment with strong documentation and change-management discipline.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Nice to have
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104).
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), AZ-500, SC-300, Security+, or CISSP.
- Production Infrastructure-as-Code experience with ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
- Higher education or regulated-industry experience.
- Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague or a comparable ERP environment.
