Senior Backend Engineer - Lending (Fintech)

Location: Stockholm, Sweden; 4 days in the office

What you will do

• Design and build distributed, event-driven services for lending and overdraft products.
• Own core lending domains end to end, from architecture through production.
• Make trade-offs across reliability, performance, and delivery speed as products scale.
• Lead system design discussions and contribute through code reviews, mentoring, and technical direction.
• Partner with product, design, and risk to deliver customer-facing lending experiences in a regulated environment.
• Explore AI applications for lending decisioning and customer experiences.

Requirements

• Solid backend engineering experience designing and delivering complex systems at scale.
• Strong experience with event-driven architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud technologies.
• Ability to work autonomously, take ownership, and operate in an evolving product area.
• Experience with Go is advantageous but not required.

Nice to have

• Experience with agentic engineering or AI-driven software development lifecycles.
• Experience in lending, credit, or financial services.
