What you will do
- Lead a team of Medical Affairs Scientists supporting the genitourinary cancer therapeutic area.
- Develop and execute local medical plans aligned with global strategies, covering pipeline, pre-launch, and post-launch activities.
- Build scientific relationships with healthcare professionals, medical societies, regulators, academia, and other external stakeholders.
- Oversee medical communications, advisory boards, educational activities, data-generation initiatives, and stakeholder insights.
- Manage medical budgets, compliance, safety-reporting awareness, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Coach team members, manage resources, and coordinate activities across national and global Medical Affairs organizations.
Requirements
- Four-year university degree and a master’s degree in life science, or an eligible qualification as a pharmacist, nurse, veterinarian, dentist, or MD.
- Experience in people management and preferably in Medical Affairs, drug development, research, clinical care, or the pharmaceutical industry.
- Advanced scientific and medical expertise relevant to the assigned therapeutic area, including medical strategy and clinical evidence development.
- Experience with scientific publications is preferred, including first-author experience on multiple papers.
- Ability to understand and communicate in both Japanese and English for scientific interactions; minimum TOEIC score of 730.
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership, communication, decision-making, financial management, coaching, and compliance skills.
Nice to have
- MD with clinical experience or board certification.
- PhD in life science.
- Medical/Scientific Advisor, MSL, team lead, clinical, or MA/DJ experience.
