TL;DR
Fuel Systems Test and Analysis Engineering Placement (12.5 months) (Aerospace testing and data analytics): Designing and conducting fuel and landing gear avionics tests, supporting flight test analysis, and developing data analysis tools with an accent on certification, system maturity, and aircraft safety. Focus on validating test benches and flight instrumentation, correlating design, rig, and flight data, and investigating in-service system issues.

Location: Filton, Bristol, United Kingdom. Hybrid working options may be available depending on the role.

What you will do

  • Support certification through integrated laboratory, rig, and flight testing and analysis.
  • Define and validate laboratory test benches and flight test instrumentation.
  • Conduct system-level testing of landing gear functionality and reproduce in-service events on avionics benches.
  • Support live flight-test monitoring through telemetry facilities and prepare analysis and certification documentation.
  • Develop algorithms and tools for data analysis, design feedback, system monitoring, and in-service investigations.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams across aircraft systems and Europe to improve system maturity and safety.

Requirements

  • Must be an undergraduate student for the full 12.5-month placement.
  • Studying Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent degree.
  • Experience with data analysis, report writing, and presentations.
  • Programming knowledge in languages such as C, Python, TCL, Matlab, or Google Apps Script.
  • Negotiation-level written and spoken English, strong problem-solving ability, teamwork, and commitment to delivery deadlines.
  • Subject to BPSS screening; UK SC-level security clearance or export-control requirements may apply depending on the role.

Nice to have

  • Awareness of aircraft systems and interest in electronics.
  • Experience with software design and development.
  • Knowledge of statistics, data science, or project management.
