Location: Filton, Bristol, United Kingdom. Hybrid working options may be available depending on the role, with regular work in a non-office-based test environment.

What you will do

  • Develop hydrogen-focused test rigs from requirements capture and detailed design through manufacturing, integration, and commissioning.
  • Modify existing hydrogen test rigs to support new test requests.
  • Troubleshoot test rig issues in a dynamic laboratory environment.
  • Use CATIA and other tools to create 3D digital mock-ups, bills of materials, and build procedures.
  • Work with prototyping areas, avionics equipment, and fluid-mechanical test rigs.

Requirements

  • Remain an undergraduate for the full 12.5-month placement and provide the expected graduation date.
  • Study fluid mechanics, mechanical engineering, or chemical engineering.
  • Have knowledge of 3D drawing tools, mathematics, and physics.
  • Respect health and safety rules when working in hazardous environments involving fluids, hot and cold surfaces, noise, and high voltages.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, communication, adaptability, and alignment with the KTOPS values.
  • Pass a BPSS check and potentially UK SC-level security clearance or export control requirements, depending on the role.
