What you will do

• Support multidisciplinary project teams in inventing new products and technologies.
• Contribute to technology and product development from invention and analysis through prototype design and transfer to manufacture.
• Work across multiple projects and application areas, including drug delivery, AI-enabled drug discovery, and 5G antenna development.
• Build relationships with clients, present technical findings, and ensure requirements are understood and met.
• Develop commercial and entrepreneurial understanding of relevant markets and technologies.
• Take ownership of work, build teams as experience develops, and collaborate across disciplines.

Requirements

• Currently studying Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline and on track for at least a 2:1 degree classification.
• Completed at least two years of the degree before the placement begins; students at the beginning of their second year may apply.
• Strong A-Levels or equivalent qualifications, such as IB.
• Intellectual curiosity, inventiveness, rigorous first-principles thinking, and a proactive approach.
• Commercial awareness, entrepreneurial thinking, collaboration skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly.
• Available to work on-site five days a week in Melbourn, Royston, UK.
