Mechanical Engineering Placement (12 months)

What you will do

• Support the mechanical analysis function throughout a 12-month placement.
• Develop analysis tools to improve engineering processes.
• Perform mechanical analysis during the design and testing phases of space hardware projects.
• Apply academic knowledge to practical spacecraft engineering challenges.

Requirements

• Must be an undergraduate for the full duration of the placement.
• Study toward a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related subject, with a predicted 2:1 or above.
• Understand the fundamental principles of structural analysis.
• Have an appreciation of mechanical simulation software.
• Use tools such as MS Excel for engineering calculations and presentation.
• Have good written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with MATLAB.
• Some programming skills.
