Software Developer (Full-Stack) Placement (13 months)

Location: Portsmouth, United Kingdom; hybrid working options are available depending on the role. The placement lasts 13 months and starts on 19 July 2027.

What you will do

• Learn and understand the codebase using project documentation.
• Design, develop, document, and test software.
• Build and maintain websites, applications, servers, and databases.
• Work within a multi-developer Agile team and collaborate with stakeholders and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Research and use cutting-edge technologies, including through pair programming with experienced developers.

Requirements

• Undergraduate student status must be maintained for the full placement.
• Studying toward a degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Understanding of object-oriented principles and a solid foundation in C# or Java.
• Knowledge of software architecture and design patterns.
• Interest in programming and technology, with good problem-solving skills.
• Successful candidates must be able to complete BPSS screening and may need UK SC-level security clearance or Export Control approval, depending on the role.
