Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack)

Location: Hybrid role based in Gateshead, United Kingdom

What you will do

• Design and build backend services and APIs using C#/.NET and Java/Spring Boot.
• Develop user interfaces with React and other modern JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks.
• Collaborate on microservices and distributed systems, including databases, messaging, caches, and monitoring.
• Contribute to CI/CD deployments using Octopus and help make services observable, resilient, and scalable.
• Investigate technical issues, improve existing systems, and participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and Agile ceremonies.
• Mentor engineers and promote code quality, automated testing, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong experience developing APIs and backend services with relational databases such as SQL Server or Postgres.
• Professional experience with either Java 8+ and Spring or C# with .NET Core 5+, with willingness to work across both stacks.
• Experience developing user interfaces with React, Angular, Vue, or similar modern frameworks.
• Experience with Git and collaboration tools such as Slack, Teams, and Jira.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, architectural thinking, and mentoring skills.
