Fullstack Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Leeds, UK — hybrid working with remote flexibility

Salary: £70,000–£100,000 per annum plus benefits

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable applications, backend services, and APIs.
• Work across the full software development lifecycle, from technical discovery and design through delivery and production.
• Develop robust, production-ready solutions using clean code, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and other modern engineering practices.
• Build and integrate AI-enabled features, including LLM-powered services, RAG, and agent-based workflows where appropriate.
• Develop internal tools and reusable components to improve delivery and developer efficiency.
• Collaborate with clients, product, data, and platform teams while evaluating technologies that provide clear value.

Requirements

• Strong experience building and maintaining production software systems.
• Solid understanding of system design, scalability, and performance considerations.
• Experience developing backend services and APIs using modern technology stacks.
• Exposure to or strong interest in AI technologies such as LLMs, including API integrations or prompt-based workflows.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools.
• Proficiency in at least two modern programming languages, plus experience with version control, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating AI into production systems, such as chat interfaces, automation, or intelligent search.
• Familiarity with RAG, vector databases, or embeddings.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
• Awareness of emerging AI tooling such as MCP, A2A, or Threads.
• Open-source contributions or side projects involving scalable systems or AI.
