TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer (JavaScript/TypeScript): Building and evolving investment research and collaboration solutions across services, web and mobile clients, infrastructure, and backend systems with an accent on full-stack development, cloud technologies, testing, and production reliability. Focus on designing complex web services, implementing AI-driven workflow improvements, and building observability, data-quality, and alerting capabilities for business-critical systems.
Location: London, United Kingdom; office-based four days per week with flexibility to work remotely one day per week.

What you will do
- Deliver investment research solutions across architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
- Design prototypes and develop full-stack software components for services, web and mobile clients, infrastructure, and backend systems.
- Review business requirements, functional specifications, use cases, and test plans with engineers, business analysts, and business teams.
- Coordinate infrastructure upgrades, disaster recovery testing, and cross-functional technology projects.
- Enhance existing systems for new functionality, performance, maintainability, and production stability.
- Implement AI-driven workflow solutions and improve observability, data quality, alerting, and on-call support.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience designing and developing web applications and services with JavaScript or enterprise technologies such as Java or .NET.
- 7+ years of experience with REST web services and technologies including TypeScript, JavaScript/NodeJS, Jest, Java, or Python.
- 5+ years of experience with HTML5, CSS, and modern UI frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Experience with AWS, SQL, Git, Jenkins CI, Artifactory, Agile, and modern software development and testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with leveraging AI in the software development lifecycle and ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics, or a related subject; ability to work independently in a business-critical production environment.
