Quality Engineer (Battery Energy Storage Systems)

Location: Onsite at the Glendale Junction, Kentucky battery park; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The role supports a 24/7 manufacturing operation, including shifts, weekends, nights, holidays, and extended hours as needed. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $74,300–$166,200 per year.

What you will do

• Drive continuous improvement in automated battery manufacturing processes using engineering principles and analytical techniques.
• Establish and monitor workstation quality targets throughout launch phases to validate production readiness.
• Manage statistical process control activities, including control charts, data collection, GD&T, and manufacturing variation reduction.
• Conduct process audits covering ISO 14001, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other quality and environmental requirements.
• Lead 8D corrective actions, structured problem solving, change management, and solutions for throughput constraints.
• Work on the production floor with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and suppliers to improve quality, lean manufacturing, and plant KPIs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or related Engineering.
• 3+ years of manufacturing process or quality engineering experience in an automated manufacturing facility.
• Knowledge of statistics, control charts, data collection, GD&T, PFMEA, and 3D CAD review.
• Strong analytical, cross-functional collaboration, decision-making, and structured problem-solving skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is unavailable.
• Ability to support a 24/7 operation across shifts, weekends, nights, holidays, and extended hours as required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering or an MBA.
• Experience with industrial controls, automation, vision systems, error-proofing, robotics, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
• Experience with 8D, 5-Why, FMEA, PPAP, DOE, Value Stream Mapping, CATIA or equivalent, print reading, gauging, and ergonomic analysis.
• Facility startup, new equipment commissioning, or startup program experience.
