Quality Engineer C Crew (Automotive)

Location: Warren, Michigan, United States; onsite C-Crew schedule required

What you will do

• Support daily quality assurance activities, analyze production data, and drive continuous improvement in production quality deliverables.
• Prepare and submit PPAP packages, develop control plans, inspection plans, and containment plans.
• Support PFMEA and Operation Description Sheet updates and complete customer-specific advanced quality planning requirements.
• Conduct layered process audits, capability studies, customer return material analysis, and root-cause investigations.
• Write and submit 8-D reports, initiate quality alerts, and follow corrective actions through closure.
• Act as the point of contact between assigned external customers and the plant, including customer visits as needed.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of quality experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of PPAP requirements and approval processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and product specifications.
• Working knowledge of SPC and core automotive quality standards, including BOS and ISO/TS-16949 requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to work the C-Crew schedule: Friday and Saturday, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; Sunday and Monday, 6:00 p.m.–4:30 a.m.
