Advanced Quality Engineer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Lead a cross-functional team within SDT and close application issues before the first customer part requirement.
• Develop prototype, pre-production, and production control plans, including measurement system analysis plans.
• Coordinate variable and attribute gage studies, improve Gage R&R results, and implement manufacturing quality systems.
• Perform capability studies for program special characteristics and document compliance with customer and internal requirements.
• Coordinate color and appearance approvals, inspection reports, and on-time PPAP package submissions.
• Coordinate supplier quality deliverables, including control plans, capability studies, part layouts, gage design, PFMEA, and DFMEA.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in quality disciplines.
• Experience with ISO/TS 16949, continuous improvement, Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, DOE, and SPC.
• Familiarity with dimensional layouts, gage and fixture design, and performance or material testing.
• Experience with advanced quality planning.
• Ability to work onsite in Plymouth, Michigan.

Nice to have

• Quality systems auditor training.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
