Senior Data Analytics Engineer, Hardware Quality

Salary: $172,550–$203,000 per year, depending on location, skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions.

What you will do

• Analyze manufacturing, factory test, device telemetry, field, warranty, and failure-analysis data to identify quality trends and emerging issues.
• Connect manufacturing, test, component, telemetry, and field-return data to investigate failures and understand downstream product behavior.
• Compare failed and known-good populations, analyze marginal passes and abnormal trends, and improve screening and escape detection.
• Build cohort-based warranty and field-quality analyses across products, factories, components, configurations, and time in field.
• Develop monitoring, early-warning indicators, dashboards, and automated reporting for hardware and manufacturing quality.
• Partner with Hardware, Manufacturing, Firmware, Quality, Reliability, Operations, Data Engineering, and Data Science teams to validate findings and measure corrective actions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working with data in engineering, manufacturing, quality, reliability, operations, or a related technical environment.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on Python experience for data analysis and automation.
• Experience working with large datasets and converting ambiguous engineering or product questions into structured analysis.
• Experience with manufacturing, hardware test, reliability, warranty, field, or product data.
• Working knowledge of statistics, correlations, population comparisons, trends, and data visualization using Tableau, Databricks, or similar tools.
• Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to engineering teams and leadership, including validation of AI/ML model outputs against manufacturing datasets.

Nice to have

• Experience with consumer electronics, wearables, IoT, medical devices, or other high-volume hardware products.
• Experience with MES, serialized device traceability, factory process data, device telemetry, warranty, RMA, reliability, or field-return data.
• Understanding of hardware testing, manufacturing processes, failure mechanisms, battery behavior, or electrical systems.
• Experience with statistical process control, anomaly detection, or predictive analytics applied to hardware or manufacturing problems.
• Familiarity with Databricks, Tableau, AWS, dbt, or similar platforms.
