Senior Data Analytics Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid role associated with Somerville, Massachusetts and Washington, District of Columbia, United States

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Partner with client delivery teams and customers to translate domain knowledge into data infrastructure requirements and resolve data issues.
• Explore customer datasets, assess their characteristics, and recommend data cleaning and analysis approaches.
• Build interactive analytics and investigation platforms, data quality reports, statistical analyses, and visualizations.
• Integrate AI capabilities such as automated insights, anomaly detection, AI-assisted data quality checks, and natural-language interfaces.
• Design, own, and improve reliable ETL/ELT pipelines, including AI-assisted workflows.
• Validate AI/ML outputs, implement human-in-the-loop checks, run quality control, and document assumptions and decisions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a data-driven role or equivalent, including end-to-end ownership of data initiatives and projects.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science, mathematics, engineering, or another data-driven field.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or an equivalent programming language.
• Competence in at least three areas including databases, data science libraries, data pipelines, cloud providers, and communicating complex findings.
• Strong communication skills and a proven record of transforming raw inputs into high-quality, trusted datasets.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work collaboratively across engineering, data, and client delivery teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with generative AI tools such as AWS Bedrock or LangChain.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as pytest.
