Intern, MES

Location: Garden Grove, California; 4–5 days in-office per week. Full-time, 40 hours per week, with standard first-shift availability and occasional early mornings or crossover meetings. A $1,000 relocation stipend is available for interns residing more than 50 miles from Garden Grove.

hirify.global is an early-stage electric vehicle startup developing commercial electric vehicle platforms for medium-duty EVs and hybrids.

What you will do

• Provide frontline MES and traceability support for machine operators, supervisors, and production staff.
• Deploy, troubleshoot, and repair factory-floor hardware, including barcode scanners, label printers, thin clients, tablets, and operator workstations.
• Investigate recurring system issues and test new MES configurations with process engineering, QA, and senior IT staff.
• Create, triage, and resolve help desk tickets while documenting root causes and fixes.
• Perform basic IT administration, including password resets, Active Directory account management, and local network connectivity testing.
• Conduct daily preventative checks of critical floor IT equipment.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States or able to obtain a J-1/F-1 visa.
• Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program or higher in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, computer science/software engineering, data science, MIS, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of Windows 10/11 troubleshooting, PC hardware, and standard office applications.
• Strong analytical and prioritization skills for multiple urgent requests in a high-traffic manufacturing environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for translating technical issues between production staff and engineering teams.
• Availability for full-time, first-shift work and 4–5 days per week onsite.

Nice to have

• Exposure to a manufacturing or plant-floor environment.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and MES connections to factory equipment.
• Familiarity with networking concepts such as IP addresses, switches, and routers.
