What you will do

  • Greet patients, visitors, and family members; check in patients and notify clinical staff of arrivals.
  • Answer, screen, and route phone calls and electronic communications while relaying accurate messages to clinical personnel.
  • Provide, collect, scan, and file patient paperwork; update demographic and insurance information.
  • Collect co-pays and balances, issue receipts, and maintain patient chart messages and queues.
  • Schedule appointments, outside consultations, procedures, and insurance-approved CT and PET scans.
  • Provide general administrative support, including filing, scanning, copying insurance cards, maintaining forms and supplies, and keeping the lobby orderly.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 18 months of front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to handle shifting priorities, maintain performance standards, and deliver quality services.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA, state, and federal requirements for patient records.
  • Ability to work in person, with extensive standing and walking and occasional lifting of items weighing up to 40 pounds.
