What you will do
- Manage office operations, including faxes, mail, scanning, FedEx shipments, vendors, and light office cleaning.
- Provide in-office patient care, fit orthopedic soft goods and braces, and educate patients and healthcare providers on product use and care.
- Coordinate follow-up brace fitting appointments and verify patient insurance benefits and out-of-pocket costs.
- Support the Revenue Cycle Management team with data entry, document preparation, indexing, claims, appeals, and imaging-system files.
- Act as a point of contact for contracted payers and accrediting agencies during onsite and offsite visits or audits.
- Follow HIPAA, OIG, government healthcare regulations, clinic policies, and compliance and ethics requirements.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience with insurance reimbursement and DME medical billing requirements.
- Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Adobe.
- Strong commitment to patient care, healthcare provider support, collaboration, and patient outcomes.
- Ability to frequently lift or move up to 60 pounds and work in an environment with potential exposure to airborne and bloodborne pathogens.
- Must already have full-time work authorization in the United States and be able to retain it without employment visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Patient care experience and working knowledge of durable medical equipment and orthotic products.
- Experience with inventory management programs or electronic medical records.
- Applicable credentials such as Athletic Training licensure, BOC, ABC Certified Fitter-orthotics, or Physical Therapy Certification.
