TL;DR
Associate Director, Medical Science Liaison (Medical Affairs): Building scientific partnerships and delivering medical support for Insmed’s therapies in rare, pulmonary, respiratory, and infectious diseases with an accent on healthcare-provider engagement, clinical development, and medical insights. Focus on presenting scientific data, supporting research programs, guiding advisory forums, and facilitating appropriate patient access within the U.S. healthcare system.

Location: Fully remote, but candidates should reside in the designated Los Angeles/Southern California region. Frequent domestic and/or international travel of up to 60–80% is required, including periods with 50% or more travel.

What you will do

  • Build and maintain scientific relationships with physicians, healthcare professionals, researchers, payers, and healthcare organizations.
  • Conduct scientific exchanges and present product, disease-state, and research information for current and future therapies.
  • Identify medical experts, investigators, consultants, and healthcare professionals within assigned therapeutic areas.
  • Support advisory boards, scientific forums, clinical development programs, trial-site identification, recruitment, and issue resolution.
  • Collect and synthesize healthcare-provider insights, competitor information, and clinical intelligence for Medical Affairs, R&D, and Clinical Operations.
  • Deliver disease-state and product training to internal colleagues while executing Medical Affairs and Clinical Development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree such as PharmD, PhD, MD, or NP/PA, plus 5 years of relevant field medical experience or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Experience with rare or orphan diseases, pulmonary or respiratory diseases, and infectious disease.
  • Knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system, healthcare policy, health outcomes, pharmacoeconomics, or population-based health management.
  • Strong presentation, interpersonal, conflict-resolution, problem-solving, networking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent command of English and high ethical standards.
  • Knowledge of the PhRMA Code, Sunshine Act, HIPAA, promotional regulations, and applicable laws and regulations.
