TL;DR
Director, Global Patient Safety Business Office (Pharmacovigilance): Driving the Global Patient Safety strategic plan, operating plans, transformation initiatives, and Global Capabilities Center enablement with an accent on pharmacovigilance operations, resource planning, governance, and cross-functional execution. Focus on building strategic roadmaps, optimizing global safety capacity, managing portfolio forecasting and vendor strategy, and coordinating talent and performance processes.

Location: Tarrytown, New York, or Warren, New Jersey; onsite 4 days per week. Travel may be required up to 25%.

What you will do

  • Drive the Global Patient Safety vision, strategy, annual operating plans, and long-term strategic roadmaps.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the SVP of Global Patient Safety and connect teams across the organization to execute priorities.
  • Lead governance, scope, resourcing, and performance metrics for the Global Capabilities Center across patient safety functions.
  • Drive operational excellence, portfolio forecasting, capacity planning, and resource optimization across internal staffing, vendors, and capability expansion.
  • Lead GPS leadership meetings, communications, initiative tracking, performance dashboards, and talent calibration processes.
  • Partner with interfacing functions, including Vendor Relationship Management, Resource Management, Portfolio Management, Development Services & Operational Excellence, and the Learning Center of Excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business required; an advanced degree and education in life sciences or healthcare are preferred.
  • At least 12 years of relevant pharmacovigilance planning and operations experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience managing and overseeing operations within a global patient safety organization is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in pharmacovigilance, Safety Risk Management, end-to-end safety processes, regulatory expectations, and cross-functional governance.
  • Proven ability to lead PV operational and planning initiatives, develop teams, solve complex business problems, and build effective stakeholder partnerships.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy, consistency, quality, and strategic perspective across deliverables and communications.
