Technician I (Equipment Services)

Location: On-site in San Diego, California, United States

Salary: $23–$27 per hour, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on custom automated laboratory equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, fluidics, optical, and PLC-controlled equipment failures.
• Coordinate planned and unplanned maintenance with manufacturing teams to maximize uptime and reduce production interruptions.
• Maintain accurate equipment, instrumentation, asset, and maintenance records.
• Install, calibrate, test, modify, and repair manufacturing equipment using SOPs, engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing facilities, manufacturing, production, laboratory, or automated equipment.
• Ability to lift, move, and carry equipment, tools, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach while accessing equipment.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment and to wear required PPE.

Nice to have

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, control panels, sensors, motors, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance on automated laboratory or manufacturing equipment.
