Aircraft Maintenance Shop Supervisor (Aerospace): Leading scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications across company flying assets with an accent on aircraft readiness, FAA compliance, safety, and quality. Focus on coordinating flight-test maintenance plans, developing accountable teams, managing return-to-service activities, and resolving repeat defects and operational risks.

Location: Mojave, California, United States; onsite work in hangar, shop, and flight-line environments. Flexible or off-shift hours, weekends, travel, and a 9/80 schedule may apply.

What you will do

  • Lead daily scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across all company flying assets, assigning priorities and ensuring safe execution.
  • Convert flight-test and operational schedules into maintenance plans covering staffing, shifts, tooling, parts, facilities, and risks.
  • Supervise inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, component changes, alterations, and return-to-service activities using approved technical data.
  • Coordinate aircraft readiness with Maintenance Control, Flight Operations, pilots, Engineering, Quality, Programs, Supply Chain, Facilities, and EH&S.
  • Maintain accurate work packages, logbooks, discrepancy corrections, configuration records, parts traceability, tool control, and calibration control.
  • Develop maintenance personnel, manage workforce planning and performance, close training gaps, and lead corrective actions and Lean improvements.

Requirements

  • Current FAA Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading aviation maintenance teams in complex, rapidly changing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with aircraft inspection, troubleshooting, repair, return-to-service, and concurrent scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across multiple aircraft.
  • Working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 43, 65, and 91, maintenance records, approved technical data, and return-to-service practices.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; related degree preferred. Ability to work flexible or off-shift hours, weekends, and travel as needed.

Nice to have

  • FAA Inspection Authorization.
  • Flight-test, experimental, special-mission, large, or transport-category aircraft experience.
  • Experience with maintenance or work-management systems, including Jira, and using maintenance data to manage performance.
