French Translation Specialist

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada (partial remote)

What you will do

• Translate and localize English content into high-quality Canadian French.
• Revise French content for editorial guidelines, brand standards, legal requirements, and compliance guidance.
• Review localized experiences for accuracy, cultural relevance, and alignment with English intent.
• Manage localization work in Trados Enterprise and collaborate with language service providers when needed.
• Gather stakeholder feedback, resolve inconsistencies, and advocate for localization best practices.
• Conduct final reviews and approve completed deliverables.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in localization or translation.
• Excellent command of Canadian French, including cultural nuances and regional variations in French-speaking Canada.
• Strong translation, editing, proofreading, and localization skills.
• Experience with translation management systems, preferably Trados Enterprise, and machine translation tools.
• Knowledge of Adobe Workfront, Taxi, Google Gemini, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills and the ability to proactively identify issues.

Nice to have

• Degree or diploma in localization, translation, linguistics, communications, or a related field.
• Experience in regulated or financial-sector localization.
• Experience with style guides, glossaries, terminology management, video localization, LQA, linguistic testing, and content management systems.
• Experience collaborating with legal and compliance teams or working in a sprint model.
