Translator-Reviser (from English to French)

Location: Ottawa, Canada; hybrid work with a minimum of 12 days per month onsite. Candidates must live in Canada within reasonable commuting distance of the office.

Salary: $111,051–$130,649 annually, plus performance incentives.

What you will do

• Translate and revise general and specialized documents, including major publications, speeches, economic texts, and other high-visibility materials.
• Create and maintain terminology records and adapt communication materials for French-speaking audiences using plain and inclusive language.
• Plan and coordinate complex translation projects, defining milestones, responsibilities, deadlines, and quality standards.
• Build relationships with internal clients and senior management, providing advice on language, cultural adaptation, and communication strategies.
• Use AI and other digital tools critically and responsibly, evaluating output quality, confidentiality risks, and practical value.
• Recommend improvements to translation processes, tools, practices, guidelines, and internal standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in translation or a related field.
• At least seven years of translation experience, including at least five years as a reviser.
• Perfect command of English and French; the position requires Level 5 fully functional bilingual capability.
• Extensive experience translating economic and financial content, with strong research, analytical, writing, and terminology skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, tight deadlines, complex projects, and high-quality output under pressure.
• Priority is given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents; candidates must be eligible to obtain Reliability status.

Nice to have

• Experience translating and revising in a structured, high-performance environment.
• Professional accreditation from OTTIAQ or ATIO.
• Strong knowledge of translation tools, particularly LogiTerm.
