French Translation Specialist (Insurance)

Location: Toronto, Waterloo, or Montreal, Canada

Salary: CA$80,000–CA$95,000 per year

What you will do

• Translate corporate communications, marketing materials, employee resources, policies, websites, presentations, press releases, newsletters, and social media content from English to Canadian French.
• Provide French-to-English translations when needed and create French-first or French-only materials, including RFP responses.
• Review and revise internal and vendor-produced translations for accuracy, consistency, tone, terminology, and inclusive language.
• Coordinate the external translation and interpretation vendor network and evaluate translation quality and resourcing.
• Maintain the terminology bank, standardized lexicon, and style guide, including insurance and product terminology.
• Track monthly translation usage metrics to identify volumes and trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English-French translation from a recognized academic institution.
• Certification from a recognized translators’ association, such as OTTIAQ, ATIO, or CTINB.
• At least five years of translation and revision experience, preferably in insurance or a related field.
• Superior organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and sound judgment.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
