Building Engineer A (HVAC and Building Systems): Operating, maintaining, installing, and repairing HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and other building systems with an accent on equipment troubleshooting, safety, and operational efficiency. Focus on monitoring building automation controls, diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults, and maintaining critical systems such as boilers, compressors, pumps, sprinkler systems, and emergency power equipment.
Location: United States; a valid District of Columbia Class 3 Stationary Engineers license or Maryland Grade 1 Stationary Engineer license is required.
Salary: $43.05 per hour, plus a 4% annual bonus for eligible positions.

What you will do
- Operate, maintain, install, inspect, test, and repair HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems.
- Service boilers, air compressors, pumps, fans, piping, water systems, valves, controls, and related mechanical equipment.
- Monitor and troubleshoot building automation controls for HVAC, lighting, energy, sprinkler, and other building systems.
- Diagnose electrical issues and maintain emergency electrical power systems, UPS equipment, batteries, and other facility infrastructure.
- Perform building maintenance, including ductwork, insulation, gutters, doors, ceiling tiles, furniture, and related repairs.
- Read and interpret prints, schematics, specifications, and operating procedures while coordinating repairs and system enhancements.
Requirements
- Experience as a Building Engineer B or equivalent external experience.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable operating procedures and skill with hand tools, power tools, and instruments.
- Valid District of Columbia Class 3 Stationary Engineers license or Maryland Grade 1 Stationary Engineer license.
- Ability to interpret prints, schematics, and specifications.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and general first-aid procedures.
- Valid company and private motor vehicle operator permits and a CFC Universal Certificate.
