Senior Crypto Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States. Travel is required about once monthly; working hours are standard.

Salary: $163,000–$204,000 annually in California.

What you will do

• Provide technical expertise for the development, integration, and delivery of space and ground cryptographic units.
• Lead spacecraft cryptographic unit trade studies and present data-driven recommendations to program leadership and customers.
• Oversee the technical design, interface definition, development, and delivery of encryption hardware and firmware.
• Support testing and verification activities, including test plans, procedures, reports, technical reviews, dry runs, and SVTs.
• Support Protected Key Management Architecture, secure key management processes, and cryptographic lifecycle management.
• Represent crypto engineering in design reviews and technical forums while leading and mentoring junior- and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree required; a technical degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, information systems, information technology, or computer science is preferred.
• 15+ years of systems engineering experience, including crypto, cybersecurity, requirements development, verification, integration, or testing.
• 10+ years of experience with cryptography, NSA certification processes, and key management processes.
• 5+ years of experience with military, Department of Defense, or Intelligence Community space and ground systems.
• Strong technical writing, communication, presentation, and Microsoft Office skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, NSA Key Management Infrastructure, HAIPEs, or cross-domain solutions.
• Certifications such as CISSP, SANS, CEH, INCOSE CSEP or ESEP, or OCSMP.
